Two children at the Christmas tree The Urban League Young Professionals of Chattanooga is holding its annual toy drive for needy families of the Urban League.

“Our goal is to spread joy by collecting as many toys as possible to give to children in need during the holiday season,” Community Service Chair Kenyon Jones said. ” The holidays should be a time of joy for every child, but for some it can be a tough time both emotionally and financially. We want to ease some of that burden. What better way to celebrate the season of giving than by bringing a smile to the face of a child.”

Ashley Gates, who chairs the Professional Development Committee at the Urban League Young Professionals, obtained a donation from The Hershey Company. Ms. Gates is a Sales Consultant for the company. “After seeing the efforts and direct impact the Urban League Young Professionals toy drive had on the community last year,” she said, “I wanted to make The Hershey Company a part of that. This token of appreciation to the Chattanooga community from the Hershey Company will continue to place smiles on children’s faces at this wonderful time of giving.”

Community donations are welcome and can be dropped off at the Urban League of Chattanooga during the hours of 9-5, Monday-Friday. The toys benefit the neediest families in the Urban League network of programs.
